Empowering Families- It takes a Village to raise a Child
“This morning I sat watching parents drop off each of their little angels, the cars pulling in and one by one coming in was smiling faces ready to learn, grow and play. I could hear their laughter and see their smiles reminding me why I do what I do for a living. The old proverb came to mind, “it takes a village to raise a child.” It reflects the emphasis on African cultures working collectively for the betterment of children. We understand that our work doesn’t just stop with your child, it carries over to taking care of the root, the entire family.”
We look into the eyes of your children and know the most valuable person in their world is You. We’ve created activities geared to create great relationships between the provider and the family. In order for a child to be effective in their learning environment, everything at home must be settled and barriers are eliminated. Our asking what your needs are isn’t about getting in your business but not letting you fall. It is our responsibility to assist in helping with resources, information and linking your family to the appropriate services. Yes, we care for your child while you’re at work and/or school but we also want to ensure that you too are okay. You are just as important to us as your child. Fostering healthy relationships between the parent outside of daycare business let’s your child know we both are on the same team. We work to uplift, inspire, and assist in your time of need.
The Village That Grows Together
Every November we have a Thanksgiving dinner with our families of the daycare. We take the opportunity to fellowship, eat great food, and laugh. As a community day care we want to grow together, bring activities to the inner city such as the Easter egg hunt, petting zoo, pumpkin patch and so on. We can only grow into our greatness with participation from all our parents. Participate by sharing your ideas, your wants, and voicing your opinion to create a village of no one lacking or means not being met. How do we engage more with you? What would you like to see for family activities? What training and services will be beneficial to you and your family? Growth happens when we work collectively and build one another up.
We are in the Business of creating Scholars
As providers and educators our goal is to create a learning atmosphere to meet your needs as parents. To create children who have eagerness to learn, grow, and play. Creating scholars means we met and exceeded your expectations, my deepest joy is hearing them recite their ABC’s, colors, shapes, blessing their food and learning the Lord’s Prayer. As well as having our school age children show us a report card with good grades. Greatness comes when minds, hearts, and souls collectively pour into our children, and families. A child has the best ability to become a healthy adult if the entire community takes an active role in contributing to the rearing of the child. I commit along with my staff to partner in raising your child to become our scholars and leaders because I believe in them. This is to ensure you are not alone as parents.
